What makes a team workation in Bali different from an offsite
An offsite is a few intense days of strategy. A workation is a month of normal work in a new setting, with the bonus of shared meals, sport and evenings together. The goal is to keep shipping while strengthening the team, so the house has to support real workdays, not just workshops.
That is why a month-long lease of a whole villa makes sense: no check-ins every few days, no strangers in the corridors and one stable setup for the entire period.

Setting up the villa as an office
Kamayana has high-speed fibre Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace. Teams usually spread out beyond it: the large bale with its long table becomes the main team desk, the open lounge suits informal pairing, and bedrooms with air conditioning act as quiet rooms for calls. The screen and projector serve for demos, sprint reviews and all-hands with colleagues at home.
If you need additional monitors, sound or event equipment, a work setup can be quoted in your offer. Ask people to bring adapters, headphones and a laptop stand; they make a big difference over four weeks.
Handling time zones
Bali runs on Central Indonesia Time, which can be far from your customers and colleagues. Before the trip, map each person's core overlap hours with home. European teams often find that afternoons and evenings in Bali overlap with their morning, which frees Bali mornings for focus work or surf. Teams working with the Americas may need early starts instead.
Agree on a shared rule for calls: where they happen, how loud, and which spaces stay quiet. A simple calendar of meeting slots avoids two people presenting in the same bale.

A weekly routine that keeps output high
Successful workations protect deep work. A typical day might start with optional yoga or a gym session, a shared breakfast, a focused morning block, lunch together and afternoon collaboration or calls. The infrared sauna and ice bath in the evening help people switch off. One or two team activities a week are enough: a beach sunset, a dinner out in Canggu or a day trip with a driver.
Leave weekends genuinely free. People who are rested in week three produce far more than people who tried to see the whole island in week one.
Logistics, costs and responsibilities
Housekeeping and laundry, a private chef or group meals, group airport transfers and a driver with minivan can all be added through local partners and quoted in your offer. Shared meals cooked for the team save hours every week and keep everyone in the same place.
Employers remain responsible for their participants' visas, any permits, insurance and their own internal policies; check official Indonesian sources or a local adviser before deciding how your team travels and works. To request dates, use the questionnaire, WhatsApp or email.
