Pererenan vs Canggu: two neighbours, two rhythms
Canggu and Pererenan sit side by side on Bali's southwest coast, and both are popular with yoga, surf, wellness and remote-work communities. Canggu is the livelier of the two, with dense streets of cafés, boutiques, coworking spaces and nightlife. Pererenan, just to the west, has a quieter village feel, with more rice fields between houses and a slower pace.
For a short holiday, being in the middle of the action can be fun. Over a month, most groups find that they want a calm home base and the option of going out, rather than living with constant traffic and noise outside the gate.

Calm and sleep for the whole group
When twenty people share a house, quiet nights are not a luxury. A group running morning practices, early surf sessions or focused work days needs rest. In a quiet rice-field area with no road noise, as at Kamayana, the garden and pool become a real retreat rather than a buffer against scooters.
Calm also helps group dynamics. Sessions in the open lounge or under a thatched bale are easier when the soundscape is birds and wind in the rice rather than engines.
Beaches, cafés and things to do nearby
Staying in Pererenan does not mean being isolated. Kamayana is five minutes from the beach, and the cafés, gyms and yoga studios of Pererenan and Canggu are close by. Groups can surf at dawn, work from the villa during the day and head out for dinner or sunset without long journeys.
This mix suits programmes that alternate between focus and free time. Participants have places to explore on their afternoons off, while the house remains a peaceful place to come back to.

Getting around with a group
Most people in the area get around by scooter or with a driver. For a group, it often makes sense to combine both: individuals use scooters for short trips, while a driver and minivan, quoted in your offer, handles group outings, airport runs and excursions further afield.
Traffic in the busiest parts of Canggu can be slow at peak times, which is one more argument for a base slightly away from the centre. Large parking at Kamayana makes it easy to keep a minivan and scooters on site.
Which base suits which kind of group
If your group wants nightlife on the doorstep and plans to spend most evenings out, a central Canggu address can make sense. If the month is about practice, training, creative work or family life, a calm Pererenan base with quick access to Canggu tends to work better.
Kamayana is rented whole, by the month, to one group, from €9,000 per month for the entire villa. To check availability for 2027, use the Get a quote questionnaire, WhatsApp or email, and expect a detailed reply within 24 hours.
