What a monthly room rental includes
The core of the offer is a private bedroom with its own bathroom, in a house that is already set up for daily life. Common areas such as the lounge, the open kitchen, the pool and the garden are part of the deal, as is access to the workspace and the fibre Wi-Fi.
What is covered in the monthly rate, such as cleaning or utilities, is spelled out in your detailed offer. Always ask for this in writing, wherever you rent. A good habit is to compare offers line by line, including the extras you might add later, such as laundry, a private chef or a scooter. Optional extras at Kamayana are arranged with local partners and detailed in the offer.

Choosing between the rooms
Rooms 1 and 2 have a queen bed plus a single bed, which suits a solo guest who likes space or a couple with a bit of extra room. Rooms 3 and 4 have an extra-large king bed or two 1.5 m beds, so you can pick between a couple setup and two separate beds.
Room 6 is the master room with a king bed and a bunk bed. Room 5 is a shared room with four bunk beds, rented bed by bed, for people who prefer a lighter budget and more company. Whatever you choose, all six rooms have air conditioning and a bathroom of their own, so the main difference is the bed layout and how much company you want.
What to check before you rent a room in Canggu
Look at the minimum stay, the cancellation terms, the exact location and what the room really looks like. Ask about air conditioning, hot water, the quality of the internet and where you will work. Check whether the neighbourhood is quiet at night if you value sleep.
Be wary of listings that have no address or that promise everything at once. At Kamayana the address is public: Jl. Munduk Batu Belah Gg. Sukun No.2, Pererenan, Mengwi, Badung. Finally, ask to see the shared spaces, because you will spend as much time in the kitchen, the garden and the workspace as in your room.

Monthly rental or a longer lease
A monthly room is flexible. You can stay a month, extend if you like the area, and leave when your plans change. A long-term lease on your own house is cheaper per square metre in some cases, but it comes with more paperwork, furnishing and bills.
For a first stay in Bali, most people prefer to start with a room, learn the area, and decide later whether they want something longer. Start with one month, and treat it as a trial of the area as much as of the house.
