What coliving actually is
Coliving sits between a hotel and a flat share. You get a private space to sleep and a bathroom of your own, while the bigger things are shared: the living areas, the kitchen, the pool and the garden. The idea is simple. You keep your privacy when you want it, and you have people around when you do not feel like being alone.
Compared with a classic shared house, a coliving is set up for people who are only in town for a while. You arrive with a suitcase, not a van of furniture, and the house already works as a home and as a place to get things done.

Why people choose coliving in Bali
Bali attracts remote workers, creators, founders and travellers who want to stay longer than a holiday. For them, a coliving removes the hardest part of arriving: finding a reliable place, a good connection and a few people to talk to. Canggu and Pererenan are especially popular because cafés, gyms, surf spots and coworking spaces are close together.
A monthly room also gives you freedom. You can test the island for a month, stay another one if it works, and leave without having to untangle a long lease or a villa you cannot fill.
How the monthly room works at Kamayana
Rooms are rented by the month only, with a minimum stay of one month. Rooms 1 to 4 and room 6 are private rooms for one person or a couple, and room 5 is a shared room with four bunk beds where beds are rented individually. Room 1 and 2 have a queen bed plus a single bed, rooms 3 and 4 have an extra-large king or two 1.5 m beds, and the master room 6 has a king bed and a bunk bed.
Optional extras such as laundry, a private chef or a scooter are arranged with local partners and written into your offer, so you only pay for what you actually want.

A typical day in the house
Mornings are quiet here, because the villa is in a rice-field area with no road noise. Some residents start with the small gym, the infrared sauna or the ice bath, others go straight to the dedicated workspace with the fibre Wi-Fi. Lunch might be cooked in the fully equipped open kitchen or picked up from a café nearby.
In the afternoon the 15-metre pool and the 1,000 m² tropical garden take over. In the evening the screen and projector in the open lounge are there for a film, or for a call with a different time zone.
What to check before choosing a coliving in Bali
Ask about the minimum stay, what is included in the monthly rate, how fast the internet really is, whether there is a place to take calls, and how far the house is from the beach and from daily needs. Look for a private bathroom and air conditioning if you work from your room.
Also ask who the house is built for. Kamayana is a calm, house-first coliving in a quiet part of Pererenan rather than a party base, so it suits people who want focus, rest and a good swim as much as company.
